November Goals

I’m quite late into posting this because… Well, life has been a little bit busy at the moment! It’s nearing Christmas-present-buying time, it’s also NaNoWriMo, I’ve been nearing the end of a feature I’ve been working on for a while at work, and I’ve also started up Italian classes again!

But I’ve still tried to set myself goals for the month. I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit difficult crossing them off due to a busy calendar, but I may as well try.

These were my October goals:

♢ Spend a day reorganising my bedroom storage

♢ Go back and edit my WIP

♢ Read 2 books

♢ Try a new recipe

3 out of 4, not a bad effort!

One of the two books I managed to read last month was Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. It’s second in a fantasy trilogy based on a young female assassin who is begrudgingly working for and living in the castle of a King she loathes. It was an emotional read, that balanced adrenaline-filled action with sincere, well-written relationships between characters, and a twist at the end that left me curious to see what happens in the next book.

The other book I read in October was The Stars, My Destination by Alfred Bester. It’s a science fiction novel written in the 1950’s set in the far future with a vengeful and rather dislikable protagonist that involves telepathy, “jaunting” (in other words, teleporting), travel between worlds, and an intensely written view on how one might experience synaesthesia.

November Goals:

♢ Read 2 books

♢ Attempt NaNoWriMo!

♢ Begin Italian classes

Fortunately, I’ve made a start on all of these, so fingers crossed I’ll be able to cross them off. I’ve also been a bit kind to myself with the NaNoWriMo goal, as I have a feeling I won’t quite hit the 50k mark… But I may as well try!

What are your goals for November?
