I will admit it.
I’ve not been all too good when it comes to blogging recently. I had a feeling this might happen at the start of my new job, but now I’m 3 months in and still finding my feet, which has meant I’ve not really given my blog much thought.
I’d like that to change though, which is why I’m going to ease myself in again with a post setting my goals for this month.
My May goals were brief:
♢ Write 6k words for my WIP ♢ Clear out some junk from my ottoman
♢ Focus on my English to Italian translations
♢ Have a safe trip to Spain!
May was a lovely month for me. I spent it travelling around Andalusia in Spain with one of my best friends, where we visited the Alcazar in Seville, the Mezquita in Cordoba, Alhambra in Granada, and the Alcazaba in Malaga, alongside many other gorgeous sites: it was a stunning trip, and it went by far too quickly!
The one thing on my short goals list last month was doing some English to Italian translation exercises, although when I was in Spain I was able to recall a lot of my GCSE Spanish, and in turn I was finding the equivalent Italian phrases – just obviously not putting it to practice! So I can’t tick that off…
Something that wasn’t on my list that I managed to do: at work I did a demo for our clients detailing the work I’d done on a feature. It doesn’t sound like much, but as someone who used to suffer badly with anxiety, it was a nerve wracking thing to do. I was worried I’d say something stupid, or that they’d ask me a question I didn’t know the answer to, or tell me I’d done it completely wrong. Thankfully though, none of that happened: they seemed pleased with how it worked, and are looking forward to it going live. So, yippee!
♢ English to Italian translation practice
♢ Reach 12k words for my WIP
♢ Go through a couple of boxes in my wardrobe and clear out
♢ Actively try blogging more
♢ Read another book
I think June will be a busy month for me, but I don’t want that to be an excuse for me to slack on my personal life, so I’m going to make my goals for this month just a little bigger.
I might be asking a bit more of myself this month than last, but I’ll hopefully work a bit harder to finish them off – and if not, I’ll be happy with the progress I have made.
What are you planning to get done this month?
