Inspiration for March

With a new job, comes new challenges. And as much as I’m looking forward to starting mine, I’m anxious about it too.

The interview process itself was a huge challenge for me, as it really highlighted to me just how much more I still need to learn.

With great timing, I stumbled across the following quote by a science fiction writer whose work I admire a lot:

If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.

H G Wells

I thought it was relevant for me: starting a new role can be hard, as there’s no guarantee it’ll be easy. I’ll likely find it hard-going at first, with so much information for me get my head around. I’ll likely make some mistakes, and I’ll likely reach the end of the day blushing from having asked a stupid question or two.

That’s fine. If I happen to fall one day, I need to remember to dust myself off and get back up again.

I’m going to keep this quote on a post it in my diary so that hopefully, if I do take a bit of an emotional tumble, I’ll remember to get back up and keep going.

Wish me luck! What’s inspiring you this month?
