This subject is probably going to be pretty popular in the land of blogging this week: the new year’s resolution post!
I didn’t set any goals for myself last year, but for 2018 I wanted to be a bit more productive, so I’ve drawn up a few goals I’d like to get done this year:
♢ WRITING: To finish my current writing project
♢ FRIENDS: To catch up with my friends more often than I currently do
♢ EXERCISE: To keep up twice a week gym sessions, and to try a kickboxing class
♢ DIET: To limit the sugary treats I eat, and to make healthy batch meals that aren’t carb heavy that I can heat up over a week
♢ BEAUTY: To get my teeth straightened up again
♢ FINANCES: To save at least £500 a month
♢ CAREER: To brush up on Ruby and learn NodeJS to the point where I can build a nice, simple app in both, and to keep attending interesting tech events
♢ ORGANISATION: To stop hoarding and have a huge clear out to declutter my things
♢ TRAVEL: To visit two foreign places I’ve not been to before, and also a place in the UK I’ve never been to either
♢ SKILLS: To actively improve my guitar playing and Italian language skills
My usual method for sticking to resolutions is to just keep on referring to them regularly, and by breaking them down into more manageable monthly goals and weekly goals, I find I’m more eager to get them done.
